Job Description

Erva Foods is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Food Scientist to join our dynamic team. The Food Scientist will play a key role in the research, development, and enhancement of food products. This includes creating new recipes, improving the quality of existing products, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and optimizing production processes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in food science, food safety, and product innovation, and will work closely with various departments, including production, marketing, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and refine new food products and recipes that align with market trends and customer preferences.
  • Ensure products meet all safety and quality standards, including shelf life, flavor, texture, and nutritional value.
  • Investigate new and alternative ingredients for product innovation while maintaining cost efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure that all food products comply with local and international food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, HACCP, ISO standards).
  • Collaborate with production teams to improve manufacturing processes, ensuring consistency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct sensory testing and consumer trials to gather feedback and refine products before market launch.
  • Design and implement food safety protocols, including microbial and chemical testing, to ensure the highest level of food safety.
  • Conduct stability and shelf-life testing to determine product durability, packaging requirements, and expiration timelines.
  • Maintain detailed records of experiments, processes, and product formulations.
  • Work on developing sustainable and environmentally friendly food production practices.
  • Partner with marketing teams to create compelling product narratives, nutritional labels, and promotional materials.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in food product development, R&D, or a related field, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
  • Deep understanding of food chemistry, microbiology, and ingredient functionality.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP, FSMA, etc.).
  • Knowledge of food processing techniques, preservation methods, and equipment.
